A. Executive officer updates, check-ins

Commissioners shared they are still doing 1-on-1 check ins with their colleagues and will have all done before the July 18th full YC meeting. Commissioner He will take on meeting with Commissioner Soto. Staff suggested it might be a good idea to write a letter to the new officers who will be taking their current positions on EC.

B. Debrief last full YC meeting

There seemed to be some misunderstandings and confusion regarding some legislation referred. Staff will work with Supervisors and their aides to see if they can come with material that is more youth friendly and accessible so youth can make a clear and informed decision. Commissioners can read proposed legislation more closely and ask questions before, during, and after. Having Supervisor Mar himself present to the youth meant a lot to them.

C. Committee reports

HECs was only committee there to report. They are doing well.

Commissioner Wu met with Angelina, aide to Supervisor Mar, regarding TAY funding and inclusion of TAY in Children’s Fund. She offered the support of the YC to that office.
