Mayor's veto of ordinance appropriating funding for the investigation and litigation against Tutor-Saliba Construction (File 030132). The ordinance will be calendared for re-consideration on March 25, 2003. Override of a veto requires 2/3rds vote (8 votes) of the Board, the Board may either vote the legislation up or down, no amendments. The Board must act on the veto override within 30 days of the date of the veto (March 7, 2003). The last regular Board meeting for Board action on the veto will be April 1, 2003.

11.  021857  [Amend Health Code - Lead Hazard Definition Amendment]  Supervisors Ammiano, Newsom, Daly 
Ordinance amending Section 1601 of Article 26 of the San Francisco Health Code to change the title of the Article to emphasize the lead poisoning prevention aspect of the Article; amending the definitions for various lead hazards in Section 1603 of Article 26 of the San Francisco Health Code to conform with the newly promulgated lead levels from the United States Environmental Protection Agency ("USEPA") and the California Department of Health Services ("CDHS") for Dust-Lead Hazard; conforming the terms used in the Article to those used by USEPA and CDHS; amending the definitions for "Case-Managed Child," "Elevated Blood Lead Child" and "Lead-Poisoned Child" to conform with the new requirements from the California Department of Health Services regarding case-management of lead-poisoned children, and making conforming changes to Sections 1601, 1602, 1604, 1617, and 1626.

Meeting Procedures 
The Board of Supervisors is the Legislative Body of the City and County of San Francisco. The Board considers ordinances and resolutions, most of which have been the subject of hearings before the standing committees of the board at which members of the public are urged to testify. The full Board does not hold a second public hearing on measures which have been heard in committee.
Board procedures do not permit: 1) persons in the audience to vocally express support or opposition to statements by Supervisors or by other persons testifying; 2) ringing and use of cell phones, pagers and similar sound-producing electronic devices, (Violators may be removed from the meeting room.) 3) signs to be brought into the meeting or displayed in the room; and 4) standing in the Legislative Chamber.
Citizens are encouraged to testify at Board hearings and to write letters to the Board and to its members, City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 244, San Francisco, CA 94102.
