SOUTH OF MARKET (SOMA) COMMUNITY STABILIZATION FUND
COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Replaces All Previous Notices

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following seat information and term expirations (in bold), appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

 

Seat 1, John Elberling, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 2, Misha Olivas, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 3, Raquel Redondiez, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 4, Allan Manalo, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 5, Adam Mesnick, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 6, Christian Martin, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 7, Janetta Johnson, term expiring December 1, 2023, must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 8 (Alternate), new appointment, alternate to Seat 1 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending December 1, 2023

 

Seat 9 (Alternate), Carolyn Caldwell, term expiring December 1, 2023, alternate to Seat 2 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term ending December 1, 2023.  

 

Seat 10 (Alternate), Gina Rosales, term expiring December 1, 2023, alternate to Seat 3 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Seat 11(Alternate), Conny Ford, term expiring December 1, 2023, alternate to Seat 4 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term ending December 1, 2023.

 

Seat 12 (Alternate), new appointment, alternate to Seat 5 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending December 1, 2023.

 

Seat 13 (Alternate), new appointment, alternate to Seat 6 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for the unexpired portion of a four-year term ending December 1, 2023.

 

Seat 14, (Alternate, Kris Romasanta, term expiring December 1, 2023, alternate to Seat 7 and must meet one or more of the requirements listed in Administrative Code, Chapter 5, Article XXVII, Section 5.27-2, for a four-year term.

 

Requirement: Each voting member and each alternate member shall satisfy at least one of the following requirements. 

 

  • One member representing low-income residents of SOMA.

  • One member who has expertise in employment development and/or represents labor.

  • One member who is a senior or disabled resident of SOMA.

  • One member with affordable housing expertise and familiarity with the SOMA neighborhood.

  • One member who represents an arts or cultural organization or a cultural district in SOMA.

  • One member who provides direct services to SOMA residents.

  • One member who has small business expertise and a familiarity with the SOMA neighborhood.

  • One member who is a youth or who represents a youth-development organization.

     

    Taken as a whole, the Committee shall meet all of the membership requirements set forth above.

     

    Additional Requirement: 2 voting and 2 alternate members shall live within the boundaries of the East SoMa, Central SoMa or Western SoMa Area Plans. 

     

    Reports: The Committee shall develop annual recommendations to MOHCD on the Expenditure Plan referenced in Section 418.5(d) of the Planning Code.

     

    Sunset Date:  January 1, 2035

    Next Steps:  Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing.  Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicant(s) may be asked to state their qualifications.  The appointment(s) of individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
