Requesting/Inquiring: To inspect the westbound streetcar stop on Ocean Avenue at San Leandro Way and to see the feasibility of having the San Francisco Unified School District provide a crossing guard to aide the students of Commodore Sloat Elementary School in crossing the street:

Text of Letter: Can DPT inspect and assess the need for pedestrian safety improvements at the westbound streetcar stop – on Ocean Ave. at San Leandro Way? This stop represents a safety concern for children who get off the MUNI K to go to Commodore Sloat Elementary School. The children step off the streetcar onto a banister-less four-foot wide platform. In addition, the traffic does not abide by the 10 mile an hour speed limit when a streetcar is present. Also, will the SFUSD look into the feasibility of having a crossing guard during the hours Commodore Sloat elementary school is open?
