1.	080158	[Apply for Grants from a State Agency - Department of the Environment]	Supervisor Alioto-Pier
		Resolution authorizing the Department of the Environment to apply for a grant of up to $200,000 from the California Energy Commission for the purpose of studying the feasibility of the use of Geothermal Heat Pumps as a source of renewable energy for the City of San Francisco.

2.	080017	[Liquor License - 837 Divisadero Street]
		Resolution determining that the issuance of a Type 48 on-sale general public premises liquor license to Eric Whitaker for Mini Bar SF LLC, located at 837 Divisadero Street (District 5), will serve the convenience of the people of the City and County of San Francisco, in accordance with Section 23958.4 of the California Business and Professions Code, with conditions.

(Dave Falzon) for review and comment. 1/24/08 - Received approval from Planning for liquor license request with conditions. 1/28/08 - Faxed response (report) from Planning to Police (Dave Falzon). 2/07/08 - Received report from Police approving liquor license with conditions.

3.	071294	[Climate change goals and action plan]	Supervisor Mirkarimi
		Ordinance amending the San Francisco Environment Code by adding Chapter 9, Sections 900 through 908, to establish City greenhouse gas emissions targets and departmental action plans, to authorize the Department of the Environment to coordinate efforts to meet these targets, and to make environmental findings.
		9/11/07, ASSIGNED UNDER 30 DAY RULE to City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee, expires on 10/12/2007. 2/1/08 - Sent to Planning for environmental review.
		2/6/08, RESPONSE RECEIVED. Planning Department determined that the proposed ordinance is categorically exempt from environmental review.

4.	080032	[Pedestrian Safety]	Supervisors Chu, Dufty, Elsbernd
		Hearing with the Municipal Transportation Agency, Department of Public Health, and Police Department regarding pedestrian safety issues. The hearing will include data on pedestrian safety incidents in the last several years, locations with an especially high incident rate, and current as well as potential future efforts to address pedestrian safety issues.

5.	080047	[Continuum of Care: Five-Year Strategic Plan of the San Francisco Local Homeless Coordinating Board 2008-2013]	Supervisors Daly, Ammiano, Mirkarimi
		Resolution declaring the policy that the Five-Year Strategic Plan of the San Francisco Local Homeless Board titled  Toward Ending Homelessness in San Francisco: A Five Year Strategic Plan of the San Francisco Local Homeless Coordinating Board is the City and County of San Francisco's official homeless policy document and governs the development of an integrated, effective and coordinated system of housing, health care, employment and support services to end homelessness.

6.	080087	[Establishing a Full Service Post Office in the Tenderloin Neighborhood]	Supervisor Daly
		Hearing to discuss the benefits and process for establishing a full service post office at Hyde Street and Golden Gate Avenue. On the corner of northwest corner of Hyde Street and Golden Gate Avenue sits a general delivery post office. What would the process be for converting this station into a full service station? What would the impacts of a full service post office on the neighborhood in terms of enhanced safety, small business development and overall neighborhood feel?

	LEGISLATION UNDER THE 30-DAY RULE

	(Not to be considered at this meeting)
		Rule 5.40 provides that when an ordinance or resolution is introduced which would CREATE OR REVISE MAJOR CITY POLICY, the committee to which the legislation is assigned shall not consider the legislation until at least thirty days after the date of introduction. The provisions of this rule shall not apply to the routine operations of the departments of the City or when a legal time limit controls the hearing timing. In general, the rule shall not apply to hearings to consider subject matter when no legislation has been presented, nor shall the rule apply to resolutions which simply URGE action to be taken.

7.	080089	[Suspending Health Code Sections 34.4 and 34.6 of the Healthy Products, Healthy Children Ordinance]	Supervisor Alioto-Pier
		Ordinance amending the San Francisco Health Code by adding Section 34.10, to suspend Sections 34.4 and 34.6 of the Healthy Products, Healthy Children Ordinance.

8.	080094	[Banning use of gas-powered leaf blowers]	Supervisor Mirkarimi
		Ordinance amending the San Francisco Police Code by adding Section 65, to prohibit the use of gas-powered leaf blowers within the City and County.
		1/15/08, ASSIGNED UNDER 30 DAY RULE to City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee, expires on 2/14/2008.

Meeting Procedures

The Board of Supervisors is the Legislative Body of the City and County of San Francisco. The Board has several standing Committees where ordinances and resolutions are the subject of hearings at which members of the public are urged to testify. The full Board does not hold a second public hearing on measures which have been heard in committee.
