Requesting/Inquiring: Inquiring about the Police Department's process for granting valet parking permits. The Department's response should address the following issues:

  1. Describe in detail the process by which businesses obtain a valet parking permit.
  2. Does the department collaborate with any other City department during the process? If so, please describe.
  3. Is the application fee a one-time fee or is it assessed annually? How much is the fee? When was the fee last increased? What is the process for raising the fee?
  4. For what length of time is the permit valid?
  5. Does the Department monitor revenue generated for purposes of the parking tax?
  6. Please provide a list of all current permit holders and unprocessed applications.
  7. Does the department provide the signage used by permit holders, including any portable sign holders? If so, does the department pass the related costs onto the permit applicant? If not, are there standards in place for signs and sign holders which are not City issued?
  8. What are the penalties in place for persons who operate a white zone without a permit?
  9. Please provide any written materials the Department has regarding white parking zones including the application form.

Further requesting that the San Francisco Police Department respond within 30 days.
