Requesting/Inquiring: Requesting the City Attorney to draft legislation that would require removal of illegal wheat paste posters within 24 hours of notice and strengthen penalties (through fines among other things) levied on violators and repeat violators. Additionally, the Supervisor requests the City Attorney draft legislation to authorize the Department of Public Works to be able to immediately abate the illegal wheat pasted blight after the violator does not comply within 24 hours, and escalate penalties against the violator in terms of fees, fines, costs of abatement and possible permit withdrawing/withholding in this case.

Requesting/Inquiring: Requesting the City Attorney to promote ethical work place standards for elected officials and public employees. The proposed legislation should raise to the highest standards the City's provisions against sexual harassment and preventing hostile work environments. To that end the legislation should prohibit sexual relations between supervisors or managers and employees, making supervisors and managers the responsible parties for such relationships; prohibit and enact penalties on intoxication and substance abuse during meetings of advisory bodies, boards, commission and legislative bodies; and promote higher standards of attendance of elected and appointed officials at official public meetings.
