The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session on the above
date with President Kevin Shelley presiding.

CALLING THE ROLL


The meeting was called to order at 2:05 p.m. On call of the roll, the following Supervisors were
noted present:

Supervisor Kennedy, seconded by Supervisor Leal, moved to suspend Rule 2.21 of the Rules of Order of
the Board of Supervisors to grant privilege of the floor to Thassinda UBA Thassinda, Chairman, Group For
the Reconstruction and Development of the Republic of Zaire.

Motion to suspend the rules adopted by the following vote:

Report by Director of Public Health concerning the State of Health Care
in the City and County of San Francisco. Sponsor Supervisor Shelley.

Dr. Sandra Hernandez, Director of Health presented the 1996 State of
the City, Public Health Address to the Board which highlighted State
and Federal policy trends, health and related economic impacts, and
key public health indicators for San Francisco.
