The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session on the above date with President Tom Ammiano presiding.

The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m. On call of the roll, the following Supervisors were noted absent:

By Supervisor Bierman, that letter be sent to the Police Chief, Fire Chief, Director of Public Health, Director, Department of Parking and Traffic, and Director of Public Works requesting information regarding the number of bicycle and pedestrian accidents that have occurred as a result of damaged city streets and sidewalks.

By Supervisor Brown, that letter of inquiry be sent to the General Manager, Recreation and Park Department to determine when the department will be able to formally create a frisbee golf course. File 981579.

By Supervisor Leno, that letter of inquiry be sent to the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, to determine whether business assistance can be provided by MOED to store owners who have been denied liquor licenses or liquor license transfers. The goal of the business assistance would be to teach store owners how to implement business plans to offset the absence or loss of liquor sales.

By Supervisor Newsom, that letter be sent to the Director, Department of Building Inspection requesting report from the Chief Housing Inspector on the following issues: (1) the estimated cost, per room, of installing sprinkler systems within those hotel guest rooms where they are not currently installed; (2) possible federal, state, city and/or private funding mechanisms to subsidize installation of such systems within those hotel guest rooms where they are not currently installed; and (3) the cost, per hotel, of installing a suitable barrier which allows for light and air to circulate to all light well openings which are accessible by tenants.
