The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in regular session on the above date with President Tom Ammiano presiding.

The meeting was called to order at 2:06 p.m. On call of the roll, all Supervisors were noted in attendance.

By Supervisor Yaki, that letter be sent to the General Manager, Municipal Railway, requesting information on their policies and procedures for identifying avoidable accidents and for placing drivers on disciplinary action and how to determine what is the appropriate discipline for an avoidable accident.

By Supervisor Yaki, that letter be sent to the City Attorney requesting an opinion concerning what remedies are available to the Board of Supervisors regarding better labeling and signage on certain types of video games. The request comes in the wake of the tragic shooting rampage in Littleton, Colorado. There are reports that the two teenage gunmen were avid players of certain extremely violent video games. The question has been raised as to how much these games may have influenced their fascination with violence and may have affected their judgment in carrying out the massacre on their classmates. Does the Board of Supervisors have the ability to help raise the level of consciousness for parents and other adults who buy such games for young people on how these games may impact kids who play them.

By Supervisor Ammiano, that letters be sent to the Director of Public Health and Director of Human Resources notifying them a hearing to consider the escalating costs of enrollment in health care plans has been introduced and referred to the Finance and Labor Committee of the Board of Supervisors.

By Supervisors Brown, Bierman, that letter of inquiry be sent to the General Manager, Recreation and Park Department, concerning development of a frisbee golf course, to determine what date the citizens of San Francisco can anticipate as the opening day.
