ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Board of Supervisors of the City and County of San Francisco met in special session at the Horace Mann Middle School on the above date with President Tom Ammiano presiding.

The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. On call of the roll, the following Supervisors were noted absent:

Ordinance amending Administrative Code Chapter 37A "Residential Rent Stabilization and Arbitration Fee" by amending Sections 37A.1, 37A.2, 37A.6, 37A.8, 37A.9, 37A.10 and 37A.11 to increase annual maximum residential rent control fees from $10 to $16 per unit; providing that an owner seeking recovery of the fee shall deduct it from security deposit interest payments owed the tenant, except that the owner may directly bill the tenant if interest is paid annually; providing for owner banking and future collection of the fee from the tenant; repealing obsolete Sections 37A.8 and 37A.9 and renumbering Sections 37A.10 and 37A.11 as 37A.8 and 37A.9; and with other technical changes. By Supervisor Brown, that letter be sent to the District Attorney to inquire whether or not he has considered taking legal action against Rite Aid in light of the allegations that it sold outdated products such as infant formula, over-the-counter medications and condoms to consumers.

By Supervisors Leno, Ammiano, Katz, Bierman, that letter be sent to the City Attorney requesting legislation be drafted to amend current laws to allow patients to smoke medicinal marijuana in specified public spaces (public medicinal marijuana clubs) with the recommendation of a physician.

By Supervisor Becerril, that letter be sent to the City Attorney requesting legislation be drafted to amend the San Francisco Building Code and provide for notification to companies in the business of recycling debris materials of the receipt by the Department of Building Inspection of an application for a demolition permit and of the issuance thereof. The ordinance should provide that the Department of Building Inspection shall accept requests from companies in the business of recycling debris for such notification and if appropriate, develop a fee structure. 

By Supervisor Katz, that letter be sent to the City Attorney to determine what funding sources are currently available to Mt. Zion Hospital and to research what feasible plans or funding sources may be available to keep the inpatient and emergency services open at Mt. Zion Hospital or what alternatives exist to provide necessary medical services to the residents of the Western Addition. File 99196.
