[Eviction Moratorium on Owner Move-Ins]
Ordinance amending Administrative Code to prohibit, except under narrow circumstances, owner/relative move-in evictions that would result in the displacement of residential tenants who are 60 years of age or older or disabled and have been residing in the same rental unit for 10 years or more, or who are catastrophically ill and have been residing in the same rental unit for 5 years or more; this temporary moratorium would be in effect through June 30, 1999; and making technical non-substantive changes. There being no objection, the Board directed the Clerk to comply with the following requests: By Supervisor Yee, that letter be sent to Director, Department of Parking and Traffic, concerning traffic and pedestrian safety problems on San Bruno Avenue in and around the intersection of San Bruno and Bacon, requesting comprehensive study of this location and as an interim measure, the feasibility of installing stop signs in both directions of San Bruno traffic flow at the intersection of San Bruno and Burrows. By Supervisor Yee, that letters be sent to Director, Department of Parking and Traffic and General Manager, Municipal Railway, to determine the feasibility of creating parking garages on the City’s outskirts for commuters to park their cars and take "express" public transportation downtown.
