VACANCY NOTICE

CANNABIS OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE

Replaces all Previous Notices

 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following vacancies, upcoming term expirations and information on currently held seats, by the Board of Supervisors:

 

Seat 8, Ali Jamalian, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by an Owner of a Cannabis Business permitted through the Equity Program, for a two-year term.

Seat 9, Arron Flynn, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by the operator of a Cannabis cultivation, manufacturing, or distribution business with fewer than 20 employees at the time of appointment, for a two-year term

Seat 10, ryan McGilley, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by a representative of organized labor who works with the Cannabis business labor force, for a two-year term.

Seat 11, Doug Bloch, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by a representative of organized labor who works with the Cannabis delivery service labor force, for a two-year term.

Seat 12, Shawn Richard, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by an owner of a storefront Cannabis retailer, for a two-year term.

Seat 13, Leah 'Nina Parks' Weitz, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by a person who, at the time of the appointment, is an Equity Applicant, as that term is defined in Police Code, Subsection 1604(b), for a two-year term.

Seat 14, Brendan Hallinan, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by a person with demonstrated subject matter expertise on the State of California’s Cannabis laws and regulations, for a two-year term.

Seat 15, Theresa Foglio, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by a person with significant experience in workforce and economic development, for a two-year term.

Seat 16, Sara Payan, term expiring December 3, 2022, must be held by a person who has been a Medicinal Cannabis patient or Medicinal Cannabis consumer for at least five years, with an extensive history advocating for Medicinal Cannabis patients or involvement in implementing and running a Cannabis compassionate use program in compliance with the Compassionate Use Act of 1996, for a two-year term.

 

Report(s):  The Committee shall gather and evaluate data, report, and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors and Mayor on the effectiveness of City laws and regulations, and the overall health and stability of the Cannabis industry in San Francisco.

 

Sunset Date:  The Committee shall sunset on December 3, 2021, unless the Board of Supervisors extends the term of the Committee by Ordinance.

Goodlett Place, Room 244, San Francisco, CA 94102-4689.  Completed applications should be submitted to the Clerk of the Board.  All applicants must be residents of San Francisco, unless otherwise stated.

 

Next Steps:  Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing.  Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicant(s) may be asked to state their qualifications.  The appointment(s) of the individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
