AFRICAN AMERICAN ARTS AND CULTURAL DISTRICT
COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE 

 

Inaugural Notice

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following vacancies (in bold) and term expirations, appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

Vacant Seat 1, new appointment, must be an owner of a business located in the African American Arts and Cultural District and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term.

Vacant Seat 2, new appointment, must be an employee of a nonprofit organization located in the African American Arts and Cultural District and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term.

Vacant Seat 3, new appointment, must a person with knowledge or expertise regarding history or culture of the African American Arts and Cultural District, reside within the boundaries of the African American Arts and Cultural District, and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term.

Vacant Seat 4, new appointment, must be a youth between the age of 13-24, inclusive, at the time of appointment, reside within the boundaries of the African American Arts and Cultural District and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term.

Vacant Seat 5, new appointment, must be and individual who reside within the boundaries of the African American Arts and Cultural District and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term.

Vacant Seat 6, new appointment, must be and individual who reside within the boundaries of the African American Arts and Cultural District and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term. 

Vacant Seat 7, new appointment, must be and individual who reside within the boundaries of the African American Arts and Cultural District and be nominated by the District 10 Supervisor, for an indefinite term.

Sunset Date: January 31, 2023, unless the Committee is extended by Ordinance.

Next Steps: Applicants who meet minimum qualifications and are nominated by the District 10 Supervisor will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing. Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicant(s) may be asked to state their qualifications. The appointment(s) of the individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
