GUARANTEED INCOME ADVISORY GROUP

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following vacancies (in bold) and term expirations, appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

Seat 1, Shirley Yee, must be held by a person with expertise in economics, finance, political science, or public policy, and with experience researching and analyzing Guaranteed Income programs, for an indefinite term.

Seat 2, Jacob Denney, must be held by a person with expertise in economics, finance, political science, or public policy, and with experience researching and analyzing Guaranteed Income programs, for an indefinite term.

Seat 3, James Pugh, must be held by a person with expertise in economics, finance, political science, or public policy, and with experience researching and analyzing Guaranteed Income programs, for an indefinite term.

Seat 4, Gloria Berry, must be held by a person who has personally experienced poverty while living in San Francisco, for an indefinite term.

Seat 5, Norel Knowles, must be held by a person under the age of 24 at the time of appointment who has personally experienced poverty, for an indefinite term.

Seat 6, Roberto Ariel Vargas, must be held by a person with professional experience serving low income individuals, families or youth, and with training and expertise in social, racial, or gender equity, intersectional problem solving, or cultural humility, for an indefinite term.

Seat 7, Bina Shrimali, must be held by a person with professional experience serving low income individuals, families or youth, and with training and expertise in social, racial, or gender equity, intersectional problem solving, or cultural humility, for an indefinite term.

Seat 8, Elena Chavez Quezada, must be held by a person with professional experience serving low income individuals, families or youth, and with training and expertise in social, racial, or gender equity, intersectional problem solving, or cultural humility, for an indefinite term.

Report(s):  By no later than December 1, 2021, the Advisory Group shall submit to the Board of Supervisors and the Mayor a final report summarizing its research, findings, and recommendations on the topics set forth in subsection (a), and any additional findings and recommendations that the Advisory Group concludes advances its goals and fulfills its duties.

Sunset Date: January 23, 2023.

Next Steps:  Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing.  Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicant(s) may be asked to state their qualifications.  The appointment(s) of the individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
