FOOD SECURITY TASK FORCE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the following vacancies, upcoming term expirations and information on currently held seats, appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

 

Seat 9, Cissie Bonini, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 10, Anne Quaintance, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 11, Chester Williams, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 12, Meredith Terrell, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 13, Ave Lambert, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 14, Guillermo Reece, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 15, Kimberly Madsen, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 16, Meg Davidson, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 17, Raegan Sales, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 18, Rita Mouton-Patterson, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Vacant Seat 19, succeeding Emma Steinberg, resigned, must be a representative of community-based organizations that provide nutritional support and increase the food security of San Francisco residents, including but not limited to a representative from an organization serving food in the following program types: home-delivered meals, congregate meals for seniors, food bank, free dining room, multi-service agency serving families and youth, shelter meals, faith-based organizations, food retail (farmers markets, grocery stores), and hospital and health clinics - no organization shall have more than one representative; nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Seat 20, Geoffrey Grier, must be a member of the public, nominated by the Food Security Task Force and appointed by the Board of Supervisors, for an indefinite term.

 

Reports:  The Food Security Task Force shall prepare an annual assessment to the Board of Supervisors of the state of hunger and food insecurity in San Francisco. The report may include recommendations for funding, programs, and policy.


Sunset Date:  The Task Force shall expire by operation of law on July 1, 2026, unless extended by the Board of Supervisors.

Goodlett Place, Room 244, San Francisco, CA 94102-4689.  Completed applications should be submitted to the Clerk of the Board.  All applicants must be residents of San Francisco, unless otherwise stated.

 

Next Steps:  Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing.  Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting and applicants may be asked to state their qualifications.  The appointment(s) of individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
