VACANCY NOTICE

 

SOUTH OF MARKET COMMUNITY PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE

 

Replaces All Previous Notices

Notice is hereby given of the following vacancies, upcoming term expirations and information on currently held seats, appointed by the Board of Supervisors:

 

Vacant Seat 1, new appointment, must be held by an individual who has small business expertise and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term ending August 1, 2024.

 

Seat 2, succeeding Mary Claire Amable, term expiring August 1, 2021, must be held by an individual with familiarity and experience in infrastructure and/or safety, as relating to pedestrians, bicyclists, or transit and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term ending August 1, 2024.

 

Vacant Seat 3, new appointment, must be held by an individual who has familiarity and experience in historic preservation and/or cultural preservation and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for the unexpired portion of a three-year term ending August 1, 2022.

 

Seat 4, John Elberling, term expiring August 1, 2022, must be held by an individual who has familiarity and experience in development and/or management of affordable housing and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term.

 

Seat 5, C. Heather Phillips, term expiring August 1, 2023, must be held by an individual who provides direct social services to SoMa residents and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term.

 

Seat 6, Jane Weil, term expiring August 1, 2023, shall have no additional required qualifications and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term.

 

Vacant Seat 7, new appointment, shall have no additional required qualifications and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term ending August 1, 2024.

 

Vacant Seat 12 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 1 and must be held by an individual who has small business expertise and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term ending August 1, 2024.

 

Vacant Seat 13 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 2 and must be held by an individual with familiarity and experience in infrastructure and/or safety, as relating to pedestrians, bicyclists, or transit and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term ending August 1, 2024.

 

Vacant Seat 14 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 3 and must be held by an individual who has familiarity and experience in historic preservation and/or cultural preservation and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for the unexpired portion of a three-year term ending August 1, 2022.

 

Vacant Seat 15 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 4 and must be held by an individual who has familiarity and experience in development and/or management of affordable housing and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for the unexpired portion of a three-year term ending August 1, 2022.

 

Vacant Seat 16 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 5 and must be held by an individual who provides direct social services to SoMa residents and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for the unexpired portion of a three-year term ending August 1, 2023.

 

Vacant Seat 17 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 6 and have no additional required qualifications and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for the unexpired portion of a three-year term ending August 1, 2023.

 

Vacant Seat 18 (Alternate), new appointment, shall serve as an alternate to Seat 7 and have no additional required qualifications and be nominated by the District 6 Supervisor, for a three-year term ending August 1, 2024.

 

Reports:  There are no reporting requirements.  However, the general purpose of the Committee shall be to provide input to the Board of Supervisors, the Mayor, and City agencies regarding the implementation of the Central SoMa Plan, Western SoMa Area Plan, and East SoMa Area Plan. The City agencies to which the Committee may provide input include, but are not limited to, the Planning Department, the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Municipal Transportation Agency, the Recreation and Park Department, Public Works, the Arts Commission, and the Interagency Planning and Implementation Committee. Prioritization of revenue expenditures described in subsection (b) below that are collected from development projects in the Central SoMa Plan Area shall be consistent with the Central SoMa Implementation Program document.

 

Sunset Date:  January 1, 2035

Next Steps:  Applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be contacted by the Rules Committee Clerk once the Rules Committee Chair determines the date of the hearing.  Members of the Rules Committee will consider the appointment(s) at the meeting, and applicants may be asked to state their qualifications.  The appointment(s) of the individual(s) who are recommended by the Rules Committee will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.
