San Francisco welcomes the arrival of thousands of visitors for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Summit (APEC) taking place through the end of this week. This is the largest gathering of international leaders in San Francisco since the UN Charter - the document that created the United Nations - was signed here in 1945.
Despite the anticipation of some road closures and transit delays this week, APEC is also an opportunity to promote San Francisco on the world stage. It’s a moment to showcase how our local communities and historic neighborhoods, like North Beach and Chinatown , are thriving. My office also worked with SFGovTV to produce a multimedia campaign to draw conference attendees into our Asian-Pacific Islander (API) neighborhoods and connect the local communities to the conference. Read on for detailed closures and reroutes. I appreciate your understanding and patience during this period as we work toward a successful APEC experience for San Francisco.
If there are any questions don't hesitate to contact my office at Peskinstaff@sfgov.org.
See you in the neighborhood,
Aaron
