A Message From The Supervisor:
I am pleased to announce that after 7 years of working with the SFMTA, SFCTA and many hours of community meetings with D11 residents, on Fri, February 23rd at 12:00pm (noon), the installation of the signal light on Alemany Blvd/Theresa Street will be complete and the 3-color traffic signal light will be activated. Â
This traffic light activation is one of several traffic lights of the Alemany Corridor Safety Project that I have been working with the D11 community, CTA and MTA to fund to make Alemany Blvd. safer for pedestrians, cars and bicycles. Â
Please join me at Alemany Blvd/Theresa on Friday, February 23rd at 12:00 pm (noon) for the unveiling of this long-awaited safety traffic light. Please arrive no earlier than 11:55am to avoid interruption of the construction crew who will be making final signage modifications.Â
Saturday is the amazing Chinese New Year Parade taking place in San Francisco's Downtown and Chinatown neighborhoods. The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade is one of the top parades in the world and promises to be an amazing show.Â
If you are planning a trip to Chinatown for the Parade and festivities, consider taking MUNI. MUNI service will be free all day! Portsmouth Square Parking garage will continue to offer free 2-hour parking. And please stay informed of street closures planned for Downtown and Chinatown neighborhoods.Â
As always, my office is available by email: safaistaff@sfgov.org or by phone 415-554-6975 (leave a message and we will call you back).  Please note - if you miss my weekly newsletter, you may find it later the Board of Supervisor’s website. Click HERE to read past newsletters.
