A lot of attention and concern has been brought up regarding learning pods that families are forming this fall. The SF Department of Public Health released guidance to help inform families of risks and best practices so we can ensure the safety of our community.

NEW TECH SUPPORT APPOINTMENTS FOR FAMILIES!
In collaboration with SFUSD, the San Francisco Education Fund has recruited tech volunteers to provide 1-1 phone and video support on basic questions about Zoom, Google Meet, Google Classroom, and Seesaw.

Free After School Online Art Classes for SFUSD High School Students
Youth Art Exchange is offering FREE online after-school arts classes and is now accepting applications from San Francisco public high school students. All materials are provided completely free of charge.
Students can apply online at youthartexchange.org/enroll by September 1 but we encourage early applications because we have limited spots. We are offering:
- Photography + Filmmaking
- Industrial + Product Design
- 2D Media: Printmaking, Drawing + Painting
- Music Production
- Fashion Design
Important Dates:
Priority application deadline: Tuesday, September 1
Orientation : Wednesday, September 9
First day of class: Monday, September 14 or Tuesday, September 15
*Classes meet twice a week for 11 weeks, culminating with the online San Francisco Youth Arts Summit on December 5.

Financial Support Available for OMI Residents Impacted by COVID-19
|

Commercial Eviction Moratorium Extended Through September 14th.
Earlier this week, Mayor London Breed signed the Executive Order to extend the commercial eviction moratorium for an additional 30 days through September 14, 2020. Back on March 17th, Mayor Breed first announced a commercial evictions moratorium that prevents any small and medium-sized businesses from being evicted due a loss of income related to lost revenue or other economic impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Office of Economic & Workforce Development (OEWD) updated the Temporary Moratorium on Commercial Evictions Regulations for Tenants and Landlords.
“NEW RULES FOR MISSED RENT PAYMENTS: Under the moratorium, if a commercial tenant misses a rent payment that was due before the Expiration Date, and the payment was missed because of financial impacts resulting from the COVID-19 crisis, then landlord may not attempt to recover possession of the unit because of the missed payment for at least six months after the rent payment was first due, PROVIDED THAT the landlord and tenant follow the rules noted in the regulation. Once a rent payment is six months overdue and the tenant has not paid back the missed rent or made alternate arrangements with the landlord, then the landlord may attempt to recover possession at that time.”
