California Governor Newsom Yesterday Announced A Month-Long Curfew That Will Begin This Saturday And Will Be In Place Until December 21, 2020 For California Counties In The Purple (Most Restrictive) Tier
Â
New California Curfew Goes Into Effect This Saturday For Counties In The Purple Tier
Â
On Thursday, November 19, 2020, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a new curfew order across California that is meant to slow the surge of new COVID-19 cases we have been seeing ahead of the holidays.
Â
Specifically, the curfew will take effect at 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 and will remain in effect until 5 a.m. December 21, 2020.  All "non-essential work, movement, and gatherings" must stop from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. and it applies to counties in the most restrictive tier -- purple tier -- or (currently) 41 of 58 counties currently in that tier (94% of Californians).Â
Â

California COVID-19 Update:Â
Â
On November 18, 2020, there were 11,478 newly recorded confirmed cases, which means that California now has  a total of 1,059,267 positive cases. There have been a total of 18,466 deaths in the state. Â
Â
Thank you, and please be safe! Continue to wear a face covering at all times when outside of your home, continue to practice social distancing, and avoid any indoor or outdoor gatherings with individuals who don't live in your household if at all possible. It could save a life. Onward.Â

COVID-19 In The City And County Of San FranciscoÂ
Â
Currently, San Francisco is in the red tier -- not the most restrictive (that would be the purple tier) -- and earlier today San Francisco's Director of the Department of Public Health ("DPH") stated that the county's COVID-19 case rates are "on a trajectory" that will move San Francisco from the red tier (lower rate of transmission) to the purple tier (the most restrictive, "widespread" risk of infection), possibly as early as this Sunday, November 22, 2020. Why does this matter? It means that the just-announced  curfew by California Governor Newsom, which goes into effect this Saturday, November 21, 2020, will also apply to the City and County of San Francisco once we move from the red tier to the purple tier, as is anticipated per San Francisco's Director of DPH.Â

Based upon a high volume of inquiries to the Office of the Clerk of the Board for various City services and assistance, our office created this map  to provide information about COVID-19 and other resources available within the City and County of San Francisco. This map will be updated periodically.Â
Â
The map features resource icons for various services—childcare, testing sites, education, hand washing stations, homeless and low income to-go food, homeless and low income technology resources, mental health substance abuse resources, pit stops, senior and older adult resources, and learning hubs—all defined by our map legend.Â
We're grateful to the Mayor, Board of Supervisors and local officials who have been hard at work creating services for you, located throughout the districts for your easy access.
You can filter the map by a service category by using the resource type drop-down menu. Click on a resource icon to see more details about the service being offered or to find out how to contact them directly. To find more information on the City’s path forward, click on the general City’s website, here. Â
