I hope you all have been enjoying the new years celebration with your loved ones. I was fortunate to be invited to President and Dr. Biden’s White House Lunar New Year celebration in Washington DC last week. While there, I was honored to sit down with Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi and newly elected Congressman Kevin Mullin. When I met with Speaker Emerita Pelosi, I solicited her advice about my new appointment as Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and tackling this year’s expected budget deficit and look forward to our continued conversations.
Lunar New Year in San Francisco
San Francisco is a wonderful place to celebrate the Lunar New Year. This month, I have enjoyed many celebrations across the city. Including the opening of the Chinatown Media & Arts Collaborative Edge on the Square, the region’s first Asian Pacific Islander contemporary art and media hub. I look forward to the many interesting events that will be held at the Edge on the Square.Â
The opening of the San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival with the mini procession in Chinatown, and the celebration of the Choy Sun Doe Day.Â
We also had a wonderful unveiling ceremony for the USPS Lunar New Year Postal Stamp at the Asian Art Museum.Â
And the official San Francisco City Hall Lunar New Year celebration. I look forward to the continued celebrations and wish you all a very Happy Lunar New Year.Â
