Mayor's Upzoning Plan

Planning Association for the Richmond  

The Mayor's plan to upzone the City is coming to the Planning Commission this week. Join me and the Planning Association for the Richmond tonight at 7pm at the Richmond Recreation Center (251 18th Avenue), where we will hear from stakeholders and housing advocates about what is contained in the Mayor's plan and how it will impact the Richmond and the City. 

I am very worried that this plan, as it is currently written, will create a speculative real estate market on the west side, displacing tenants, aging homeowners and our small businesses. I encourage you to attend tonight to learn more about the plan and how you can give your feedback to the Mayor's Office and the Planning Commission. 

Additionally, I am continuing to have conversations with the Mayor and his office about how we can work together make amendements to ensure that while we are building much needed housing, particularly affordable housing, the people who currently live here can continue to live and thrive.

9th Annual Autumn Moon Festival

On Saturday, October 4, from 11am - 3pm, join us for the Richmond's 9th Annual Autumn Moon Festival!  The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is one of my favorite holidays, where we come together with family to celebrate and eat delicious mooncake!
