Today, I introduced legislation that reinstates the Graffiti Advisory Board, that advises the Board of Supervisors and Mayor on how to make the city’s graffiti prevention and abatement services more efficient. It also reviews and evaluates our city’s services and programs that prevent and respond to graffiti. It’s inspiring to see organizations like Paint the Void out and about in our District, helping beautify our neighborhood and prevent graffiti. Read on for other efforts our city is working on that you can help with.
Keeping the Richmond Clean
Every Thursday, Public Works deploys a large contingent of street cleaners to a different neighborhood commercial district to power wash and sweep the sidewalks, and remove graffiti. To view the schedule, visit sfpublicworks.org/cleancorridorssf. Just last week, I met with the Public Works crew in the Richmond to thank them for their work as they cleaned up the district, including the Alexandria Theatre.
Prevent Graffiti - Call 311
If you haven’t already downloaded the 311 mobile app, it’s a great way to report clean up needs in the neighborhood, including graffiti or dumping. By reporting these issues to 311, you can quickly and easily alert our city workers to help keep our streets and sidewalks clean.
