In 2022, thanks to the support of our District 1 neighbors, together, our District 1 team overcame many challenges and setbacks we faced as a community, and accomplished many things that make the Richmond a better neighborhood for all.
I want to thank you for being kind and understanding with our neighbors, and whenever necessary, stepping-up and providing us with your feedback so we can better serve our community together. I hope that you will continue to do the same in 2023.
There were many small businesses joining us in the Richmond in 2022, like the amazing reopening of 4 Star Theater, Mochi Donut on Clement Street, Que Chulada on Geary Blvd, The Laundromat on Balboa Street, and many more. And I want to highlight my visit The Laundromat last month as they were getting ready for their opening in Outer Richmond for pizza, beer, wine, and bagels! My family plans to watch a movie at the Balboa Theater and then head to The Laundromat for pizza and beer – please join me in supporting all our small businesses!
It was great to celebrate the 6th annual Autumn Moon Festival with Assemblymember Phil Ting, and our community partners. Thank you to SFPD Chief Bill Scott and SFFD Chief Jeanine Nicholson for joining us at this event and meeting with our merchants and residents.
I was proud to stand with the California Nurses Association as they demanded fair labor practices from Kaiser Permanente. I will continue the fight to protect our workers and their right to unionize.
我很自豪能與加州護士協會並肩作戰,他們要求 Kaiser Permanente 實行公平的勞工待遇。 我將為勞工權益和公平的工會制度而繼續奮鬥。
Working with my colleagues on the Board of Supervisors, we funded before school care, food security, support for our aging population, a youth leadership academy, and a commercial corridor service in District 1. As a member of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, I negotiated these addbacks to the community and advocated for $30 million for the Asian Pacific Islander (API) population.
We had a fun morning walking and rolling to school with the McCoppin Dragons for Walk and Roll week! Get out there and support our community, climate and our health!
Thanks to the Department of Public Works for bringing Clean Corridors’ washers, flusher trucks, litter removers, graffiti abaters, and outreach inspectors to the Richmond! Clean Corridors visits commercial corridors citywide once a week, including Clement Street and Geary Boulevard in District 1.
On Election Day, I was honored to present a commendation to Congresswoman Jackie Speier, honoring her service and dedication to San Francisco and the nation. May we all take her advice to heart to not “dismiss the power you have, use it to serve the people of San Francisco.
I thank you for continuing to support me as I serve as your Supervisor and I wish you and your family a very warm and healthy holiday season, and a very happy New Year.
