Dear Neighbor,
I’m excited to share some big news! Golden City Football Club is coming to Kezar Stadium—our city’s first pro soccer team in years! Next week, I’ll be introducing legislation to move this historic deal forward.
As part of this deal, Golden City FC will be investing $10 million in stadium upgrades such as new turf, seats, a state of the art scoreboard, and of course, new energy!

These aren’t investments in just GCFC—they’re investments in uplifting our communities. These improvements will benefit local schools, youth leagues, and the entire community. With over 30,000 kids playing soccer in the city, this is a welcome partnership to bring to San Francisco.
And as we prepare to host the World Cup in the Bay, I’m thrilled Haight Ashbury will become the new home for GCFC here in District 5 and look forward to the energy, joy, and community this will foster in our neighborhood.
Are you ready to be part of the best fan base in the world? I know I am! |
Bringing a full-service grocery store back to the Fillmore is a top priority, and I’m excited to share that an interested grocer has stepped forward.
Addressing our food security in the Fillmore has been a priority since day one of my office. Since calling for a hearing on the Safeway closure, my office received interest from several grocers, including Smart & Final.
We’ve worked diligently to make it easier for a new grocer to move into the site by reforming our conditional use laws and partnering with the Mayor’s Office to bring stakeholders together toward a solution.
Because of this work, we are making encouraging progress.

Small Business Week
This week was Small Business Week in San Francisco! To celebrate the beating heart of our city, I visited some of my favorite cafes in the district:
☕Fillmore Street Cafe (1301 Fillmore Street)
☕Allstars Donuts and Burgers (290 Golden Gate Ave)
☕Beluna Cafe (1195 Oak Street)
Our district is so lucky to have amazing cafes—but they wouldn’t be possible with our hard-working small business owners. Be sure to visit our small businesses and show them some appreciation!

We’ve just passed 100 days in office, and the momentum is real. From conversations on the street to messages in our inbox, one thing is clear: people are feeling hopeful about the future of our district.
So I’d like to kick off a new segment to celebrate that energy — and look up, literally.
In Things Are Looking Up, I’ll be highlighting the incredible architecture that makes our district one of the city’s true gems. From historic facades to unexpected design details, there’s beauty above eye level — you just have to stop and look. I’m kicking us off with an easy one, can you guess what it is? Send us a note if you recognize this beauty 👇

Neighborhood Transportation Program Survey |
Don't forget: my office introduced a survey to help us decide how to spend nearly $700,000 in Neighborhood Transportation Program (NTP) funds from the San Francisco County Transportation Authority. Safety in our district is a top priority for my office and I’d like you to be a part of the decision-making process on how to spend District 5's NTP funds!
We’ve already received over 200 responses! Fill out the survey here to help shape transportation safety in our district. The deadline to submit is May 30, 2025.

Can You Believe It?
This week, we got a trash can back where it belongs! After a small business in the Haight flagged that this city bin had gone rogue—dragged down the block and replaced with a mess—our office jumped in. With quick coordination with Public Works, the can was reinstalled and the area cleaned up within 24 hours. Thank you to those who reached out, this small win will keep our sidewalks walkable and clean.
