Friday May 21, 1-3 pm with Supervisor Melgar and Staff
We will be holding our monthly live office hours using Zoom. Join us Friday May 21 from 1 to 3pm. Come meet the new Supervisor and her staff to discuss any issue or policy idea.
You can book an appointment using the button below. Drop-ins are also welcome, but you may have to wait.
If you cannot make this month’s office hours, you can always email us at melgar.staff@sfgov.org for our assistance or leave a phone message (415) 554-6516. We are all working remotely, so please be patient if expecting a call back.
To report issues that are overseen by other city departments use the 311 system.
The intersection of Pacheco and 10th has been a well-known collision zone. Neighbors organized and approached our office to seek a safer solution. Supervisor Melgar agreed and she successfully advocated for All-Way stop signs and cross walks to be installed for this intersection.
SFMTA's engineers will finalize a plan for the sign layout to be added on their agenda for a public hearing in June. We expect the stop signs to be installed in July.
BREAKING NEWS: MUNI SERVICE
May 15 transit service is starting in the hills!
Muni will be starting a daily transit service connecting Forest Hill and Glen Park via Teresita and Diamond Heights Boulevard. It will be called the “36/52 Special” and will operate from 8am-830pm starting May 15.
Specifically:
half hour service of frequency in each direction from 10am-6pm
Based on community feedback and some unique scheduling, Muni will be able to provide service going in a clock wise direction between Diamond/Glen Park/Monterey/Teresita/ Forest Hill from 8am-10am with 1 hour frequency and from 6pm-830 pm with 1 hour frequency.
Potential August Changes
Muni does not have the resources to restore service at the pre-COVID levels, and in fact will not be able to restore more than 70% of our pre-COVID service hours between now and the end of the year, so they are focusing on providing transit access to as much of the city as possible as we gear up for school to start.
There is obviously more need than there are resources to serve those needs, so they are basing decisions on the values of the agency, with a heavy focus on serving equity strategy neighborhoods and essential trips.
Come engage on some potential route changes at SFMTA Board meeting on Tuesday, May 18th and at the SFCTA’s meeting on Tuesday, May 25th. Click the button below to view potential route changes, specifically slide 23/24.
You can learn about what Muni is considering that will provide transit service to some currently unserved areas. Our office is working closely with them and we would all appreciate hearing your thoughts and feedback as they work to finalize the August service changes.
This is the second dry year in a row for California. We know San Franciscans use water wisely and we thank you for your commitment to conservation. We must continue to do what we can to make the most of our water supplies in case this dry trend continues. We are asking San Franciscans who are able, to please be more efficient with your outdoor water use. The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission offers lots of resources to help you use less water both indoors and out. Utilize the SFPUC’s free
