I hope you are all enjoying the summer! 

We have had a busy month here at the board. While there are no official Board of Supervisors meetings or committee meetings in August, our team is still available if you need anything.

As we look forward to another school year, there are a few Back Pack Giveways happening in community. Please be sure to spread the word!

District 10 Office Updates

• June 27 - Attended the OSHA 10 Safety Training in Westpoint. This training was started and put in motion by Robert Ortega and Dr. Terrell Irving. We are going to make sure that Rob’s legacy and the work he started continues. This is one step to starting a career in construction. Great turnout! 
• June 27 - We had a community briefing about oral care at the Southeast Community Center hosted by Dr. Rubin Sorrell II. We discussed the disparities of oral care across demographics and the plans to address it. More events and information to come.
• June 28 - We celebrated the 80th birthday of a true community giant, James Richards. He is responsible for securing jobs for so many people in community and for securing work for small businesses and contractors. As a founder of ABU (Aboriginal Blackmen United), he taught us all how to fight and win against the system, unapologetically. Happy 80th Birthday to a Legend!
• June 29 - Another great Hoops 4 Peace event by Us4Us at India Basin Park. Great turn out with community, all in the name of peace! 
• July 17 - We held a District 10 Town Hall along with City Attorney David Chiu and our Bayview Station Captain Koniaris & Lieutenant Lee, at the Southeast Community Center to discuss community issues and how the City Attorney can help our residents enforce laws in our city and how our offices work together on addressing issues in community.
• July 18- Our former District 10 intern Hatim Mansori, along with our Chief of Staff Natalie Gee, continue the work in community! Hatim moderated the first Warriors Gaming Squad ESports Summer Camp (part of the Golden State Warriors) panel at Balboa High School which brings together youth from Bayview United Gaming and Community Youth Center to learn more about careers and opportunities in the e-sports and gaming industry. 
• July 23 - For Probation Services week we honored the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Department (Katy Miller), Adult Probation Department (Cristell Tullock), Pre-Trial Diversion Program (David Murroff) and Probation Officer Victor Williams, for their tireless efforts and focus on safety, rehabilitation, reentry, and well-being of our communities. Their service is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
